In a surprising finale to the Valentino women’s couture runway show at Paris Fashion Week, Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson took to the catwalk this Tuesday in one of the best and most well-received publicity stunts ever. The pair walked the runway as their characters Derek Zoolander and Hansel to appropriately announce the long awaited sequel “Zoolander 2.” The really, really, ridiculously good looking pair strutted their stuff on the Valentino runway and then flashed their famous “Blue Steel” look over the crowd, striking a pose to the tune of “Don’t You Want Me” by The Human League.
Audience members went wild as the two "supermodels" stole the show, flaunting shiny duds and oversized Valentino coats. Similarly, news of the sequel’s release is spreading like wildfire across the net. Audiences have been waiting 14 years for a sequel, after all.
Forbes reports that the movie will be released February 12, 2016, so there’s still some time to wait before audiences get to witness Derek Zoolander and Hansel as they make their return to the world of modeling, despite other companies trying to take them out of the business. In the film, Derek will work to recreate himself in the ever changing world of fashion. There will certainly be much adventure and hilarious hijinks in store. Who can wait?
ENTV via Variety announced that Penelope Cruz and Will Ferrell will be onboard for the new film, as well. E! Online has just announced that supermodel Karlie Kloss will also make an appearance in the film. More announcements will surely hit the net as others are recruited.
“Who knew that Valentino could be funny” related one Twitter user on Tuesday. Others continue lighting up social media feeds with pictures from the event and excitement that Zoolander is back.
Zoolander 2 is currently in production. The film is written by Ben Stiller and Justin Theroux. For more information about cast and crew, visit the IMDB page for the film.
